What is Ki-in Therapy

The Rhythm of Healing

Ki-in Therapy is a practical, hands-on approach that invites us to become more sensitive to the body and to work with it, rather than against it.

It supports:

  • Body awareness and sensitivity

  • Natural movement and regulation

  • Release of physical tension and holding patterns

  • Emotional and energetic balance

  • Deep listening through touch and presence

Rather than forcing the body to change, Ki-in Therapy encourages the practitioner to slow down, listen and follow what the body is already showing them.

Rather than forcing change, Ki-in Therapy moves with gentle touch and mindful presence—opening space for healing, softening restrictions, and allowing vitality to return with ease.

Frequently asked questions:

1 / Is Ki-in Therapy another technique I have to learn?

Ki-in Therapy is not simply about adding another set of techniques to your practice. While techniques provide a foundation, the deeper learning is developing the awareness, sensitivity, and presence to work with the body in a more intuitive and responsive way.

2 / I already have massage or bodywork training. How is Ki-in Therapy different?

Ki-in Therapy is not about replacing the techniques you already know. It offers a different way of working with the body—developing sensitivity, awareness, and the ability to respond to each person's unique needs rather than relying only on set protocols.

3 / I don’t feel naturally intuitive. Can I still learn Ki-in Therapy?

Yes. Intuition is not something reserved for a select few. Through practice, awareness, and developing sensitivity through touch, you can cultivate a deeper understanding of the body's responses.

4 / Do I have to be a therapist to learn Ki-in Therapy?

No, anyone with an open mind, a desire to help others, and a willingness to tune into what they feel can learn this technique.

5 / Is Ki-in Therapy a form of energy healing?

Ki-in Therapy incorporates an understanding of energy and awareness while being grounded in gentle, client-centred bodywork. The focus is on developing presence, sensitivity, and connection with the body's natural rhythms.

6 / What is the time commitment for the training?

The program begins with a three-day intensive workshop, followed by six months of guided learning, supervised practical application, and ongoing support to help you integrate the skills with confidence.

7 / Why is there a discovery call before enrolling?

Ki-in Therapy is a personal and experiential training. The discovery call allows us to discuss your background, intentions, and goals, answer any questions you may have, and ensure the program is the right fit for you.

8 /Will I be able to use Ki-in Therapy professionally after completing the training?

The program is designed to develop practical skills that can be integrated into your existing practice or used as the foundation for your own Ki-in Therapy sessions. Professional requirements may vary depending on your location and scope of practice.

Meet Your Facilitator

For more than 28 years, Adrian Smith has been exploring one simple question: How can we work with the body in a way that feels natural, respectful, and deeply effective?

That journey has taken him through decades of study and practice in Ki Aikido, remedial massage, acupuncture, coaching, and hands-on therapeutic work. As a 5th Dan Ki Aikido practitioner and Head of the Australian Branch for over 22 years, Adrian has dedicated his life to understanding the connection between movement, awareness, energy, and the body's natural intelligence.

Rather than creating another technique, Adrian developed Ki-in Therapy as a gentle, client-centred approach that helps practitioners move beyond relying on techniques alone. His passion is creating a supportive learning environment where students develop confidence, cultivate presence, and discover a deeper, more intuitive way of working through touch.
